19th Century French Window Seat

About the Item

19th century oak window seat from France with an exquisitely hand carved back, depicting a central carved face surrounded by acanthus leaves. The arms are hand turned and are attached to the seat, which has a beveled and carved decorated edge, following down to a hand carved apron and shaped legs in the front, which are also hand carved and ending in scrolled feet and simple legs in the back for easy placement against a wall. The seat measures 18.5 inches high.
