Vintage Pair of Empire Style Fauteuils with Carved Dolphin Arms by Century, USA

About the Item

Late 20th c., high quality American made pair of custom upholstered Fruitwood frame armchairs, labeled under seat. This pair of armchairs from Century Furniture Industries in Hickory, North Carolina, exhibits the refined elegance of Empire style. The chairs feature classic Empire detailing, including curved arms that end in beautifully carved dolphin or sea creature motifs, adding a touch of grandeur. The legs are fluted and straight, reminiscent of the neoclassical lines popular in the Empire period. The frame is solid wood, with a warm, polished finish that highlights the craftsmanship. The upholstery is a light cream fabric with a subtle geometric pattern, though it shows some staining as seen in the close-up images. Note: Seller will pay a professional packing company to pack these chairs in order that they can be securely sent by UPS/USPS at a much lower cost than white glove service. Dimensions: 38"h x 23.5"w x 18.5"d, 18.5"h (to seat) Condition: Good/Fair, nice frames, some staining to upholstry seats (see photographs). Provenance: A Private Collection, Morristown, NJ
