We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning oversized original Victorian Chesterfield hand dyed brown leather library reading armchair This piece was fully restored in the last couple of years to include new full aniline leather upholstery, its then been hand dyed this lovely light vintage brown colour This armchair looks amazing, seats comfortably and was handmade using traditional furniture making methods, the lines on the front pillared arms and scooped back are very sculptural and look amazing from every angle. The back piece of leather is one huge premium cut, quite often you will see one or two stitch lines down the back where the upholstery has used cheaper offcuts of leather, not on this chair, they have elected for a single choice cut so the back line flows seamlessly, it makes the chair look as good from the back as it does. The seat cushion is goose feather filled and very comfortable We have deep cleaned hand condition waxed and hand polished it from top to bottom. The leather as mentioned is English hide leather which is thicker than standard leather and shows all the imperfections and patina of the hide so it looks more like a genuine gentleman’s club piece Dimensions: Height:- 114.5cm Width:- 97cm Depth:- 96cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses SW19-3BE. Condition: Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
