Vincent Willem van Gogh (1853 - 1890) was a Dutch painter.
Vincent van Gogh's "Olive Trees" is a painting created in 1889. The painting, depicted in this carpet, is part of a series of works depicting olive trees, a subject that deeply fascinated the artist because of their winding shape and the symbolic power they evoked.
The color palette is vibrant, dominated by deep greens, blue tones and sky blues, juxtaposed with touches of yellow, ochre and brown. The colors are bold and not naturalistic, but rather expressive, as is often the case in Van Gogh's works. The sky, for example, is not light blue but deep blue, almost turbulent.
The olive trees have twisted and gnarled trunks, the branches winding and elongating into serpentine shapes, creating a sense of dynamism. Van Gogh manages to capture the essence of nature through these strokes, which express the tension and vitality of the trees.
