Made with hand-knotted wool and silk, this 7x10 rug is an exciting new addition to Rug & Kilim's Scandinavian rug collection—a contemporary reimagining of Swedish Minimalism and vintage rugs and textiles of Rollakan and Rya traditions.
On the design:
The palette—an interplay of light gold, gray, and beige-brown with pink among the notable accents—underscores large-scale squares and geometric patterns with a particular air of what historians have come to call “Swedish Deco.” Keen eyes and admirers of the craft will note the tasteful look of abrash in the colorway—a meticulous element of this collection that lends traditional Scandinavian geometry a subtle sense of movement and variety.
While the bright and playful colorways lend a fabulous touch of whimsy, the silk’s natural, gentle sheen lends a touch of elegance, and brings out the movement beautifully in any lighting.
