This early hand woven, signed KB, and dated 1962 piece was designed by the much sought after Kerstin Bulter during her time with Södra Kalmar Läns Hemslöjd is an an exceptional example of her work and for anyone familiar with the organization.
Södra Kalmar Läns Hemslöjd means the handicraft association of Southern Kalmar County in Sweden. This was founded around 1908 in as a non-profit organization.
Rugs from Kalmar Läns Hemslöjd are signed with SKLH or S.K.L.H. The rugs are sometimes also dated with the year of weaving and sometimes with the initials of the weaver. Kerstin Butler was active within the association, and signs her rugs with KB. Kerstin Butler joined the association in 1961. She left in 1969 to start her own weaving studio.

This uniquely geometric design is understandably named "Butterfly". Woven at Tre Bäckar in the beginning of the 1970's. Large polychrome geometric patterns. The designers initials K.P. are woven in the bottom corner, signed by Kerestin Persson. Made without fringes.
