Antique Persian Sirjan Rug with Green & Ivory Floral Patterns on Pink Field

About the Item

Antique Persian Sirjan rug handwoven from the finest sheep’s wool and colored with all-natural vegetable dyes that are safe for humans and pets. It’s a traditional Sirjan design featuring floral details in ivory and green over a pink field. It’s an elegant piece to showcase in modern and contemporary spaces. It has a dimension of 4’4”x 5’4” which is great in bedrooms, living areas, and dining rooms. Sirjan rugs are named after Sirjan, the capital city of Sirjan County in Kerman Province, Iran. Many of the weavers here belonged to the Afshar nomadic tribe who many rug experts believe were the first carpet makers to make use of the ‘Boteh’ or ‘Paisley’ pattern which became popular among Western rug consumers. Sirjan or Afshar rugs are traditionally made using colors in the deep red and blue spectrum. IMPORTANT: ACTUAL RUG COLORS MAY VARY FROM PICTURES & DESCRIPTION. YOU MAY REQUEST ADDITIONAL PHOTOS/VIDEOS OR CONTACT US FOR CONFIRMATION BEFORE PURCHASE.
