One of a Kind Handwoven Wool Area Rug 10' x 14'
About the Item
Based on an original Asmara painting by Elizabeth Moisan inspired by frescoes in a villa excavated near Pompeii. The design contains a subtle trellis pattern surrounded by a beautiful garland of leaves, fruit, pine cones and acorns. Soft tones of garnet, pine green and browns sit gracefully on a Pompeian yellow ground. This handmade cut and loop pile rug was made by combining a loop weave invented by Asmara with the ancient French Savonnerie pile weave. Woven with a complex yarn made up several yarns of different shades, this rug has a unique texture and shading variations reminiscent of rare antique rugs. Has passed independent durability tests by the Independent Textile Service of Dalton, Georgia, USA. Green manufacturing methods. Size: 10' x 14'.
