Male Mannequin Head Wood & Early Plastic Ideal Display for Sunglasses American ?

About the Item

An early 1900s mannequin head that looks American to us. This male mannequin head is extremely rare. We have never seen anything like him and we cannot find another one (or one even remotely similar) anywhere in the world. This Original and interesting head could be of an American Iconic figure, but we have yet to figure out who it is. The facial features, to us, are that of an American male and maybe he was an astronaut or a soldier or a movie star. We are not certain about the decade in which this head was made either, but the materials indicate that he must have been made between 1920 and 1955. The inside of the head is made of wood and the outer surface is made of an early plastic (see images 8 and 9). The early plastic was given a bronze like patina and some of that original patina/coloring has faded over the years, very much consistent with age and use and nothing dramatic. The top quality, chrome spring is still as strong as the day it was made and it has a cast iron base (see image 9). The nut and the screw-thread at the bottom also tell us that this mannequin head dates from before 1955. This rare head is also perfect for displaying sunglasses or hats and it will never fail to impress. If you are a collector of rare, impressive, decorative and good condition mannequin heads or if you are looking for the perfect display piece in your sunglasses shop then this cool collectible could be flying your way soon. Mind you, our price for this rare and stylish piece includes perfect packing and also worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 days. Maximum height x width x depth 17.1 x 6.3 x 8.3 inches. Diameter of the cast iron and chrome base 4.7 inches. We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again).
