Three panel folding screen with French costume prints, c. 1900-30

About the Item

Three panel, double hinged, folding screen mounted with early 19th century French decoupaged costume prints of aristocratic women of the 14th century by copperplate engraver George Jacques Gatine (1773-1824). The print subjects are in the taste of the Romantique Revival, circa 1820. The decoupage prints and hand-painted diapered border and lower reserve are later. Circa 1900-1930.
