20th Century Giacomo Balla Decorative Wooden Screen for Gavina hand decorated

About the Item

Dino Gavina began his activity as early as the 1940s with objects for theater sets, his great passion. Convinced of the need for design that was modern but also rich in poetry, he gradually succeeded in involving many prominent personalities of the time. His work constitutes the starting point of the so-called Italian Style. He was one of the most influential figures in the world of industrial design, and he is credited with the authorship of design as we understand it today for the strong innovations and influences he brought to the field. Here we have a wonderful screen hand painted by the artist Giacomo Balla in '70s. The screen is composed of 2 panels, each panel has 3 parts that could be moved in order to create movement and shadows. Published in: Fondazione Scientifica Querini Stampalia, Dino Gavina, collezioni emblematiche del moderno dal 1950 al 1992, p. 94, Jaca Book, 1992. Very good condition, ready to be shipped, the item can be dismantled for shipping. First example made of this series and donated to Ennio Chiggio, Dino Gavina's graphic designer. Declaration of Chiggio heirs, Drawing for the Marcelo Duchamp Center in Bologna.
