Antique Cast Metal Charles Lindbergh "The Aviator" Commemorative Bookends

About the Item

This set of cast and patinated bookends are signed by an unknown maker, but presumed to be early examples made by COPR of the United States during the 1920's in the period Art Deco style. The bookends show a relief depicting Charles Lindbergh with an American Eagle on one bottom corner and the Spirit of St. Louis on the adjacent corner. The base has the title "The Aviator" with impressed capital letters. The back is stippled in its casting and has an obscured maker's mark in a box, and one base appears to have a signature on it, possibly identifying the original owner.
