This 'New & Enlarged Edition' published by George Newnes Ltd., printed by William Clowes & Sons Ltd., London. This book reaches in the most practical of all ways, by a series of unique action photographs, which show Golf faults as in a mirror. Following each of the photographs showing the wrong was is one showing the right. It should be read by all who wish to play with real enjoyment. The contents comprise chapters on Principles for Beginners, The Drive, the Golfing Swing, Mashie Play, The Weather Test, How to Overcome Difficulties from Tee to Green. 116 photographs over 174 pages. John Henry "J.H." Taylor was best known for his fine British Open play, winning his first Open in 1894 and went on to win it a further four times. George (William) Beldam was born in Kent 1868 and was a first class cricketer and pioneer of action photography in sport. He revolutionised the way sport was photographed and captured many of the sports personalities as spectators would have seen them, in action and not the traditional form of posed photography. An excellent golfer and cricketer, he produced books of 'action photographs' on Golf, Tennis and Cricket, as well as being a talented watercolour painter. His famous book of photographs 'Great Golfers - their Methods at a Glance', published in 1904 gives an excellent insight into how the great players of the time actually swung the club. He also produced two instructional books with C. B. Fry:- Great Batsmen: Their Methods at a Glance and Great Bowlers and Fielders: Their Methods at a Glance. His photographs also provided the basis for A. Chevallier Tayler's series of colour lithographs of cricketers in action. Dimensions: Height 22 cm / 8 " Width 15 cm / 6" Depth 2 cm / 1"
