Eugene Leclerc, Canadian, (1885-1968)
Handsomely handmade model of The Bluenose created by Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, Quebec artist Eugene Leclerc likely during the 1940's, appears to have all original rigging and attachments, working rudder, lifeboat is removable showing the interior of hull, dot signed and titled to either side of keel, with stand, minor damage to tip of bowsprit and back boom. Eugene Leclerc is considered the best & most well known model ship builder in Quebec and Canada, each and every piece is handmade, anchors and pulley were each cast by hand from lead fishing weights.
