A discreet view of the forbidden Paris of the 1930s, it's brothel, it's pimps, it's opium dens. A dark yet fascinating world where high society mixed with the underworld. The magnificent photos are accompanied by an autobiographical text in which Brassai reminisces about his world and describes the extraordinary conditions under which he took his photographs.
