American porcelain, 1770-1920. New York: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1989. First edition hardcover with dust jacket. 320 pp. A large catalogue from The Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibition on American Porcelain held in New York from April 8 until June 25, 1989. The museum has had a long-standing interest in American porcelain, since one of its founding trustees, William C. Prime, was a collector of American pottery and porcelain. One of the pieces included in the show is a small bowl from the Jersey Porcelain and Earthenware Company was prominent in the Prime collection. The bowl is the only known example of a piece made by the company.
