About the Item
A French Louis XIX/XV Style Giltwood Carved 'Baroque Revival' Figural Queen-Size Bed with Cherubs. The tall ornately pierced carved headboard, crowned with an allegorical pair of cherubs holding a crest, flanked by other angels, winged dragons, leaves, acanthus and branches throughout, all framed with a silk damask fabric with allegorical hovering cherubs among flowers wreaths, birds, torches, acanthus and scrolls. The foot-board with equally giltwood carved cherubs and acanthus raised on square legs. Circa: Paris, Mid-Late 20th Century.
