6ft Wide Decorative Italian Renaissance Carved Antique Bed WK200
About the Item
A magnificent Italian Renaissance revival bedstead fashioned from walnut. The central panel of the foot board has an exquisitely carved scene of cherubs descending from the heavens to bathe and frolic in waters in a rural setting. Above this panel is a raised medallion depicting the letters the entwined letters BR, presumably for the original owners of the bed for whom this commissioned piece was originally made, possibly for a marriage. The tall head panel has a central pediment feature of a beautifully carved lady’s face within a cartouche, which are flanked by elegant tapered “hat-shaped” finials.
This Renaissance revival bed is a very fine example of the style and is of the highest quality.
This bed accepts a 72" wide by 78" long (UK Super King) base and mattress set and we can provide these.
The price includes a deep firm bed base to support the mattress.
The mattress bedding and bed linen are extra.
