A Very Good Regency Period Giltwood Wall Mirror, England Circa 1825

About the Item

The finely proportioned & richly gilded frame showing an architectural cornice above a horizontal tablet with burnished gilt gesso classical motifs in high-relief, overtop a later mirrored plate sided by reeded pilasters & surmounted by rosette-shaped acanthus capitals. Provenance: Melrose House, Streatham, London. (See photo of mirror 'in-situ' at Melrose House, circa 1950).
