Italian 19th Century Charles X Period Walnut and Giltwood Mirror

About the Item

An impressive and most unique Italian 19th century Charles X period walnut, burl walnut and giltwood mirror. The large scale mirror retains it's original mirror plate framed in a charming and finely detailed giltwood foliate wrap around band with beautiful intricately inlaid rosettes and pierced palmette designs. The base displays a straight mottled design while striking most decorative fluted architectural columns lead up each side, tied with fine giltwood Greek key bands and displaying elegant foliate top and bottom caps. The grand top crown above displays an intricately carved giltwood design with a stunning central floral reserve flanked by superb pierced finely detailed palmettes and scrolled foliate designs with a lovely carved foliate mottled band above.
