Antique Wooden Faux Bamboo Mirror Chinoiserie France 55x43cm
About the Item
Antique faux bamboo mirror completely in Chinoiserie style, very popular in the Art Nouveau period, France, this example dates from around 1910.
Beautiful wooden mirror carved to look like bamboo, hence the name faux bamboo, this piece has a very nice weathered age patina on the wood and the mirror glass is decoratively spotted, which is often the case with very old mirrors. The lacquer is also crackled which indicates a very old object!
In very good condition considering the age, a few chips from the ends of the wood, but nothing disturbing, check the photos for more details!
