19th Century Rustic Tramp Art Mirror - Hand Carved, Austria, circa 1870

About the Item

Out of the ordinary rustic Tramp Art mirror from the late 19th century in Austria. Elaborately hand carved out of basswood around 1870, this rural wall mirror comes with a dark brown stained surface in great original condition. The highlight of this antique mirror is definitely the doubled frame showing unique carved bars on the outside. The main frame impresses with fantastic chip carvings (notch cut) building a so-called "pyramid" design and makes this uncommon Tramp Art mirror an absolute gem. The mirror plate has been renewed during the restoration process. A metal clamp on the backside makes wall mounting easy.
