19th Century Large Giltwood Overmantel Mirror
About the Item
A very fine 19th Century giltwood overmantel mirror of large proportions and exceptional quality. The mirror glass plate of rectangular form with curved top corner returns with scrolling foliate detail is set within an intricately hand carved moulded and fluted giltwood frame with scrolling foliate, applied flowered paterae and beaded row motifs throughout. Supported on shaped platform base with ebonised detail and beautiful arrangements of scrolling acanthus leaves, flowerheads and beaded row detail to each side.
