Whimsical Italian Hand Painted Horse Lamp Zaccagnini Marbro Mid-century Modern
About the Item
Whimsical 1950's Italian ceramic hand painted horse lamp by Zaccagnini for Marbro Lamp Co. Lovely gold, burnt orange and black details the crackled ceramic base. This piece retains it's original black faux patent leather shade which looks fantastic with the lamp. This is an incredible 1940s Italian ceramic art pottery lamp/torchiere by Ugo Zaccagnini for the Marbro Lamp Company. Massive in size and scale, extremely heavy with company and industry "secret" brass-bronze base, neck, and fixture. Crackle glaze, with hand painted (gilt) equine motif. Signed by the artist w/ early period signature, serial/id # and labeled "Marbro Lamp Co."...Very rare, early artisan crafted production piece for the Markoff brothers then newly formed Los Angeles based furniture/lighting company. These lamps were purchased by many celebrities throughout the years, earning them the classification of "Hollywood Regency".

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Very nice vintage condition. There are no chips or cracks and the lamp retains it's original wiring. The hand painting is on both sides of the lamp so there are two horses on the lamp, Some very minor scuffs to the shade.
