Wagenfeld Multi-Purpose Lamp WNL 30 by Wilhelm Wagenfeld for Tecnolumen

About the Item

This multi-functional lamp was designed by Wilhelm Wagenfeld in 1939. It was originally created as a “bedside lamp” that was “also suitable as a wall lamp”, as described in the brochure of the interior design company “Weimar Bau- und Wohnungskunst GmbH”. TECNOLUMEN has reproduced the model by studying original drawings of the lamp from 1930. The lamp can be moved using two joints, but the light is only ever emitted to one side. The rotary switch is located on the body beneath the shade. The solid, heavy brass body is plated with nickel instead of chrome, giving the metal an unusually warm look and a fine, deep shine when polished. Wagenfeld’s multi-functional lamp can also be used as a piano or shelf lamp. WNL 30 consists of nickel-plated metal and an opal glass diffuser. Each lamp is numbered consecutively and bears the TECNOLUMEN signet.
