Vintage Domed Brushed Steel, Chrome Table Lamp in the Style of Laurel Lamp Co
About the Item
This lamp is special, and it is has a sleek futuristic look and brushed steel or chrome exterior. The lamp silhouette is striking with the wide dome and spherical stand. The double chains control dual sockets which allow for focused lighting.
This is possibly by Laurel Lamp Co., of Newark, NJ, circa 1950-70. It invokes mid century and space age design.
The flaring body and circular foot rest on a glass or plexiglas base. This lamp has a space age feel and is a cut above the the newer lamps that are being produced now--50-years after the originals.
It is in good condition with a scuff to the mushroom shade, which could be touched up according to one's tastes. This is a vintage piece that presents extremely well. It came from a Hollywood vintage store that was closing, and it works perfectly. The top of the dome has a scuff or two and shows signs of age, but this is something that could be easily chromed as a conservancy touchup measure, depending on the next owner's taste.
It is 24 inches tall and 18 inches in diameter.
