Pair of Italian Carved Travertine and Marble Inlaid Vintage Table Lamps
About the Item
This pair of vintage 1970s Italian table lamps are made from carved travertine that has been inlaid with a rouge marble band. Carved from a solid block the lamps are very substantial and heavy. Travertine a stone favored by the Romans and here used in a form also favored in antiquity is characterized by few veins and relatively uniform color while the rouge marble is a rich and contrasting color. The form, while antique here seems modern and simple without the sense of obvious luxury. Shown with shades for scale and design ideas the shades are simple paper and are not included in the price but can be for an additional fee. . The height given is to the top of the form and does not include the lamp rod or harp.
