Pair Of French 19th c. Louis XVI St. Patinated Bronze, Marble, & Ormolu Lamps
About the Item
A stunning pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated Bronze, black Belgian Marble, and Ormolu lamps. Each finely detailed lamp is raised by a square black Belgian marble stepped pedestal with mottled edges, an Ormolu 'les oves' designed band, and supported on scrolling foliate decorated feet. Atop circular mottled edge Ormolu platforms stand the pair of patinated Bronze posing maidens wearing loose fitting flowing garments. A fierce dolphin sets at the feet of one maiden with its tail wrapping upwards around her leg. With one hand on their hips and the other above their heads, they hold Ormolu foliate decorated torched with impressive frosted glass flames.
