Pair of 18th Century Column Capital Lamps from France

About the Item

This pair of 18th century French oak column capitals have been turned into wonderful table lamps. The capitals are Corinthian style with acanthus leaf motifs, and they have a nice, worn whitewash parcel paint finish. We had them wired for use in the United States. Perfect for any surface needing table lamps, these will give an architectural accent to the area. Measures: H=21 1/4, height capitals only=9 1/2, bases=8 x 8, shade max diameter=16 5/8.

The lion has been a symbol of England since the late 12th century, when King Richard I (Richard the Lionheart) adopted the animal for his first Great Seal. This lion was carved out of pine in England during the 1700’s and has since been repurposed into a table lamp.
