Oile lamp (coffee table lamp)

My name is Maciej, I come from Krakow, Poland. I am an art historian and I have been involved in furniture making since childhood. I am the son of a carpenter and the grandson of a cracow famous tailor. Craftsmanship has been present in my life since my early youth. The motto of my Le Portemanteau project were the words that I had been forging within myself for several years until its creation in order to be able to put them on paper, and ultimately put them on the objects that I create: 'Awareness to beautiful things is in my blood -I am the son of a carpenter and the grandson of a tailor. My father's furniture making and grandfather's tailoring led me to make my own attempt to combine that two. Le Portemanteau is new chapter built on tradition, experience and a childlike search for one's own definition of beauty in seemingly forgotten objects. Inspired by the forgotten celebration of men's everyday life, which for me has a special significance at the junction of furniture and fashion, I want to revive, following the example of masters, unforced elegance, attention to quality and surrounding oneself with exceptional objects, which are, after all, the scenery for the male character.The quality of material, techniques tested by generations, timeless design and constant learning of humility and patience is an attempt to find a my personal way to create this furnitured scenography of life.'
