Neoclassical Marble Table Lamp Grand Tour
About the Item
A very handsome, Neoclassical carved marble lamp, . This is a very impressive tale lamp, depicting Hercules & the Nemean Lion.
The earlier 18th century, caved body, decorated with three headed depictions of the hero Hercules, wearing the slain Nemean lion's head and paws is mounted on the triangular portoro marble base which was added when electrified in the 1920's.
Now on view at the Berkshire Galleries of Great Barrington, Massachusetts.
