About the Item
Oscar Torlasco Lamp - Torlasco Table Lamp - Mid-Century Table Lamp
Rare and sought-after "Mod. 553" table lamp in brass and bakelite, designed by Oscar Torlasco for Lumi. Like most of his creations, the fixture features a distinctive trumpet-shaped lampshade, which holds inside the light bulb and is topped by a glass lens that enhances the illumination.
Details in black bakelite render the lamp timeless and elegant, thanks to the nice contrast with the brass body.
The lamp is preserved in very good conditions, is working and is thoroughly original down to the plug and switch. It presents a pleasant overall patina and some signs of the time including minor scratches and dents. Check the pictures and video for an overview of the conditions.

Oscar Torlasco was born in Rome, Italy, in 1934. Torlasco designed many beautiful lamps. The most well known are the lamps he designed for Lumi. He designed for several Italian lighting manufacturers, including Esperia, Stilux, Lamperti and Stilkronen. Most of his designs are from the 1950s and 60s
