Custom Lightolier Style Tripod Floor Reading Lamp Brass & Linen In the Manner of Gerald Thurston MAGNIFICENT! Here is a marvelous custom Lightolier styled tripod reading floor lamp! This lamp was custom made to serve as a reading lamp for the Eames Lounge Chair! The perfect reading light was desired and this custom design puts light right at reading level! At 36" tall it is the perfect height for a reading lamp. The mid century period has a long history with reading lights and Philip Johnson created his own designs for his Glass House. Reading is such an important part of life, that good design demanded special lamps be created to serve the sitting reader. This lamp is in incredible condition! It has the perforated diffuser cone and lamp shade diffuser screen to filter the light to prevent glare, but when placed next to an Eames Lounge Chair (or any reading chair) serves up spectacular reading light! This is fresh from a Scottsdale Estate and is the only one of its kind in the world. A must have acquisition for the eagle eyed decorator for their favorite client or that special project! This lamp is in superb vintage condition and lamp functions excellently. Cord is fed through one of the brass legs, elegantly and discreetly. A custom Thurston style lamp that fills the void between the table lamp and the floor lamp. A Fantastic addition to your Palm Springs Atomic Ranch, Miami Estate or New York Penthouse!
