About the Item
Lampe Diderot ,Delmas formé d'un globe en opaline orange ,avec un socle travaillé en métal chromé.
Issu des Arts Décoratifs et de l'école Boulle, Pierre DISDEROT crée en 1947 sa société « Atelier Pierre DISDEROT ». Installé dans un premier temps au 19, rue de la Gare à Cachan, il est inspiré par les créations de luminaristes scandinaves et découvre sa voie en devenant l'inventeur de l'éclairage décoratif contemporain. L'après-guerre est en France une période charnière : entre 1945 et 1960 viennent se cristalliser de nouveaux modes de vie, une aspiration au pratique. Très rapidement la démarche de Pierre DISDEROT s'inscrit dans la demande du moment. Sa qualité d'industriel le fait collaborer avec ses amis designers de l'époque qui créent, dessinent et lui amènent des luminaires à éditer. Parallèlement, il réalise également des affaires de prestige, comme les éclairages de nombreuses salles du paquebot LIBERTÉ.
