French Mid-19th Century Louis XV Style Ormolu Candelabra Lamp

About the Item

A unique and elegant French mid-19th century Louis XV st. ormolu candelabra lamp, with inkwells and adjustable screen. The lamp is raised by a kidney shaped base with satin and burnish finish displaying the original Blanc de Chine porcelain inkwells. At the center is a bronze of a young gentleman in his classic attire affixing skates to his shoes, above a finely chased ormolu rock and river base. The richly chased candelabra has a foliate design and two S scrolled arms with detailed candle cups. The adjustable fabric screen is framed in an S scrolled foliate ormolu border below the top finial of the eternal flame. All original gilt.
