French Ceramic Table Lamp by Jacques Pouchain / Atelier Dieulefit

About the Item

Here is a handsome smaller-scaled ceramic lamp by the well-respected French designer Jacques Pouchain / Atelier Dieulefit. The sgraffito-decorated lamp is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs and is signed 'L'Atelier Dieulefit' on the underside. The dimensions listed are with a new shade, which is included if desired. The pottery base measures 11.5 high and 5" in diameter. An iconic design by one of France's most celebrated mid-century ceramicists. Jacques Pouchain (1925 - 2015) left Paris and gave up his architectural training in the 1950s for the South of France to devote himself to art and his pottery studio at Dieulefit. He produced highly personal work and more commercial pieces as well both revealing a modern approach to pottery.
