Rare Californian Modern table lamp designed by Paul Laszlo for Brown Saltman in the United States circa 1950s. This spectacular lamp features an oak wood body with Laszlo's signature chest pattern seen on his famous "Basket Weave" furniture line he did for Brown Saltman. The lamp comes with steel hardware that goes to the top and finishes with an oak decorative cube adding a geometric and fun touch to this design. The two light-bulbs turn on with a pull-chain and shine in the opposite direction creating a bright and inviting environment. Visionary Paul Laszlo designed this mid-century table lamp for Brown Saltman during the 1950s in the United States. Paul Laszlo (1900-1993) was a Hungarian-born American interior designer known for his luxurious and influential work during the mid-20th century. He became a prominent figure in Hollywood's Golden Age, designing elegant interiors for celebrities, wealthy clients, and prominent institutions. Laszlo studied architecture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest. In 1927, he moved to the United States and settled in Los Angeles, where he quickly established himself as a sought-after designer. His work embodied the glamour and sophistication of the era, combining modernist principles with opulent materials and impeccable craftsmanship. Laszlo's clientele included Hollywood stars like Elizabeth Taylor, Cary Grant, and Barbara Stanwyck. Laszlo's designs often featured custom furniture, vibrant colors, rich textures, and a harmonious blend of traditional and modern elements. Throughout his career, Laszlo worked on various projects ranging from private residences to hotels, clubs, and corporate spaces.
