About the Item

Bauhaus Model WG 24 table lamp by Prof. Wilhelm Wagenfeld. Originally manufactured in 1924. Current production designed by Tecnolumen. Wired for U.S. standards. Glass plate and glass tube made of clear glass, nickel-plated metal hardware with an opal glass screen. Power supply is 110-240 V 50-60 Hz. Bulb socket: E27. The manufacturer recommendeds one 75 W energy-saving bulbs 15W / 2500 K. Bulbs not provided. Wagenfeld designed the first model of this lamp as his solution to an assignment given to him by Moholy-Nagy. Today the Wagenfeld table lamp continues to be manufactured on the same basis following the original specifications for dimensions and materials. All lamps are consecutively numbered under the base and bear the Bauhaus and TECNOLUMEN logos. This is the only copyrighted reedition authorized by Prof. Wilhelm Wagenfeld. As the name indicates, the Bauhaus lamp is Wagenfeld's masterpiece illustrating both Bauhaus philosophy and TECNOLUMEN's dedication to Bauhaus design. TECNOLUMEN produces 4 different versions of the lamp in nickel, all authentic designs by Wilhelm Wagenfeld. Please contact us for additional information on variations. This light has been a part of the shop at the Museum of Modern Art, New York since 1986.
