19th Century Victorian Decoupage Table Lamp with Special Shade
About the Item
This is a rare and beautiful Victorian era lamp. It was converted from a candelabra at some point in its history. It is surmounted by a silk box shade in eggshell colored silk with metal trim that has been completely restored. The lamp with four brass arms raised on a square tapering column with decoupage ornament on a square ebonized base with brass trim.
The ornament is decoupage - small decorative paper images that were applied to the surface of the lamp column. The Victorian version of stickers!
The Victorian square tapering four-light lamp is also constructed of elm.
This piece was made in America during the middle of the 1800s. It is a rare lamp
36 inches overall height, 8 inches wide, and 8 inches deep and works perfectly.
