About the Item

19th century French blue opaline glass oil lantern, lamp was the decorative way to light up your home before the advent of electric lighting! This French antique oil lantern, fitted with solid bronze base and brass mantels, was designed in France during the latter half of the 19th century during a period of the revival of the Louis XVI style and the era of Napoleon III. Electrified by our expert staff, it has been fitted with a silk shade included in the price, circa 1860s Measures 26 height x 12 in diameter (including shade), base is 7 in diameter.
