Circa, 1963. Ooooh LA LA!!! This table lamp is MAGNIFIQUE!!!! Yes, it certainly is!!! AND It’s a confirmed Bitossi 1963 ORIGINAL!!! This is an absolutely stunning vintage Mid-Century Modern Italian Rimini Ambra Series pottery table lamp by Aldo Londi for Bitossi & Raymor. It is labeled “Made in Italy” and #3065 found on the base under the felt. The Rimini Series has become a cultural symbol in Italy and a recognition of Italian influence in the world of art and design. The Rimini Series has evolved with numerous color variations and this lamp is a gorgeous “Ambra” or Amber embellished with precisely incised or inscribed abstract motifs, graphic designs, and geometric shapes surrounding the cylindrical body. A fantastic expression of Aldo Londi’s iconic stylistic language!! The top and base of the body are slightly recessed, and it retains the original patinated brass neck, has been totally rewired and given a new socket, plug, harp, and cord AND it is topped with a new off-white faux silk drum shade. CARINA!! (That’s Italian for NICE!!) It will be beautiful on a sofa table in your living room, on an accent table in the sitting room, or on a nightstand in your bedroom. It is sure to exude just the right ambience and will be marvelous in any room that needs a touch of Italian Mid-Century Modern magnificence!!! Aldo Londi, 1911-2003, was a painter, sculptor and ceramicist. He devoted his entire life to art. After being a POW in Africa during WWII, he went to work for Bitossi Ceremiche. In 1946 he became Art Director. He ended his reign as Art Director in 1976 but continued contributing till his death in 2003. His designs were wonderful but his skill with developing glazes was exceptional! His work is an iconic staple in Italian design to date. Although the Bitossi family had been making art pottery since the mid-19th century, it was not incorporated until 1921 when done so by Guido Bitossi. They always did well, but when Aldo Londi joined them with his talent and mindset they flourished. Londi not only developed glazes and whimsical animal figures but brought other influential and experimental designers on board. They continue today producing beautiful pieces designed by the likes of not only Londi but Sottsass, Bocini, and Rashid. Raymor was built by the American entrepreneur Irving Richards in 1941. He became one of the most influential figures in mid-late 20th century design and was at the cutting edge of popular American tastes during the period. He began his business life in 1926 selling used books in Mahattan, NY and later moved on to form a relationship with designer Russel Wright. This led to the formation of Russel Wright Inc. on March 10th, 1936. In 1941, the Wrights sold their share of the Wright Accessories business to Richards, with the proviso that Richards help them with their ‘American Way Program’ of supporting new American designers. He did this, but it was ultimately unsuccessful. Following the sale, Wright Accessories Inc. was renamed Raymor Mfg Division Inc. on February 19th, 1941, and Raymor was born. In 1963, Raymor was sold to furniture company Simmons, which itself was later sold to Gulf & Western. The company name was changed to Raymor Richards, Morgenthau Inc. on December 15th,1969. During the mid-late 1960s and early 1970s, Richards was placed in charge of furniture. He strictly controlled the outcome by taking part in every part of the decision process, but always took advice from Bagni, Londi, or their equivalents. Richards was also instrumental in introducing Ettore Sottsass to ceramics around 1956, placing him firmly under the wing of Aldo Londi at Bitossi. Irvine Richards retired from Raymor sometime in 1970. Credit to: Mark Hill Publishing. This Original 1963 Bitossi Rimini Ambra Series Italian pottery table lamp by Aldo Londi is…. BELLISSIMA!!! Vintage MCM Art Deco Figural Jester Harlequin Table Lamps Style of Marbro Pair
By The Marbro Lamp Company
Located in Topeka, KS
Enjoyable vintage MCM (Mid-Century Modern) Art Deco figural jester or harlequin table lamps in the style of Marbro, a pair. Comprised of molded plaster, hand painted details, antiqued gold painted stems and finials, and new black silk like drum shades. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. There were some cracks and chips that have been repaired. They have new wiring, sockets, & base felt. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Mid-20th Century. Let’s get this party started!!! Did you know, a jester, court jester, fool or joker was historically a member of the household of a nobleman, or a monarch employed to entertain guests during the medieval and Renaissance eras? A jester was also an itinerant performer who entertained common folk at fairs and markets… and now this whimsical performing duo is ready to entertain YOU!!! This is a lively pair of figural table lamps in the style of Marbro comprised of molded plaster with intricately hand painted details. They have antiqued gold painted finials under new black silk like drum shades. The male is wearing a fabulous one piece garment embellished with gold and black diamonds, a cape with a broad gold ruffled collar, a black face mask with bright blue eyes, a Renaissance pirate style hat, and he is jamming out on his mandolin with one foot perched upon a ball. The female jester or “Plaisante” appears to be dancing and getting her groove on to the beat of the mandolin. Her outfit matches the male jester with black and gold diamonds down her pants, an identical wide gold ruffled collar, and a gold zig zag on the front of her top. And let’s not forget to mention her gorgeous gold shoes!! She also has a black face mask with blue eye slots and her hat is pointed with jewels on the front. She holds a facial fan which she waves as she dances and a shawl that drapes loosely across her back and flows as she glides to the music. They are sturdied by antiqued gold painted stems and they both stand upon a square base stacked upon a larger gilded square with rounded edges… They are absolutely EXQUISITE!!! Can’t you just hear the strum of the strings and see them laughing and dancing in front of their King or nobleman? We certainly can! They will be wonderful in a game or entertainment room, in your living room, one on each side of the sofa upon a pair of end tables or side by side on a sofa table, or in your bedroom, one on each nightstand beside your bed. They are mid-century modern with a little Art Deco and Hollywood Regency flair and will blend in beautifully with many décor styles. If you are a clown collector or jester lover and have been searching for just the right addition to your home… you just found it! They are amusing, completely charming, and sure to entertain you and your guests for years to come!! There’s no more time for “funny business….” You simply MUST make them YOURS!!! Female Lamp...

Kila Red Dog Rolling Table Lamp by Harry Allen for IKEA
By IKEA, Harry Allen
Located in Topeka, KS
Awesome Kila red dog rolling table lamp designed by Harry Allen for Ikea. It is in wonderful vintage condition. We have provided a new plug adapter. Please see photos, circa 2001. Ok I never thought I would say IKEA and original awesome design in the same sentence but here you have it! This incredible table task lamp was designed in 2001 exclusively for Ikea by Harry Allen designs. He and it won accolades worldwide for its fabulous design. Harry’s inspiration for this rolling task light was his life-long interest in roller skating. Its tripod base is supported by rubber wheels which allow it to move in circles. Designer, Harry Allen is quoted as saying “Kila spins on its axis as if it had been practicing that move in the roller rink for decades.” This bright red lamp is so reminiscent of 1960s cutting edge design yet feels futuristic at the same time. And although it originally sold for IKEAs super low pricing has now as with the great designs through the ages become collectable and sought after. Harry Allen is an award winning designer born1964 in New Jersey. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Alfred University and his master’s in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute in NYC. He founded Harry Allen Design NYC in 1993. That same year he produced a line of furniture called Living Systems and since has designed internationally with a wide variety of clients and products. He has work in the permanent collection of MoMA, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Denver Museum of Art and the Philadelphia Museum of Art as well as earning many design awards. We found this lamp sitting atop a George Nelson action...
