With antique light fixtures as one of our specialities, we know how rare large porch lanterns from the early 1900s are and to have found one of this size, design and beauty more than made our day. Also, because this rare and superb workmanship specimen is in excellent condition. This large pendant light will look great in the porch or hallway of all types of mansions or stately homes and country houses. To give you a better idea of its rare, large size we have placed this lantern in a regular size dining chair (see image 9). In the course of the many years this unique antique has 'adopted' an amazing patina, making it look even more ancient and classy. Mind you, this wrought iron light fixture is all hand-forged and hand hammered and there is something about these handmade antiques that sets them apart from almost everything that you find in stores in this day and age. This wonderful antique lantern with the slightly irridescent green cathedral glass radiates a warm light that is second to none and it will create an atmosphere like no modern fixture ever could.
