Set of Four French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Three-Light Ormolu Sconces

About the Item

A sensational and grand scale set of four French mid-19th century Louis XVI style three light ormolu Bras de Lumière sconces. Each sconce is centered by a tapered, fluted and highly chased ormolu support with an inverted bottom acorn finial. The fluted ‘S’ scrolled arms are decorated with acanthus leaves and additional foliate movements leading up to the richly chased candle cups and saucers. Draped over each of the arms and connected by the central support are richly chased swaging foliate garlands. Above, are the stunning and intricately detailed urns displaying fine wrap around coeur de rai patterns and swaging floral garlands. All original gilt throughout. * Shades are shown for display purposes only.
