A pair of large glass sconces designed by Svend Aage Holm Sørensen in the 1960s. They feature thick textured glass shades and are in excellent vintage condition. These sconces are rare as a set and one of Holm Sørensens masterpieces. * A pair (2) of sconces with shades pieced together by thick textured glass bricks * Designer: Svend Aage Holm Sorensen * Model: 5175 * Producer: Holm Sorensen & Co. * Country: Denmark * Year: 1960s * Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Both with markers mark. Only thing to note is that one back piece has a few paint stains. * Dimensions (H x W x D): 30cm x 22cm x 12cm * Light source: E14 screw bulbs, max 25W * Ready-to-use with white cords * The listed price is for the pair (2) ********* Svend Aage Holm Sørensen (1913-2004) was a Danish industrial designer and architect educated from he Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, who made significant contributions to the development of modernist design in Denmark. Holm Sørensen's designs were characterized by their simplicity, elegance, and functionality, and he was particularly known for his work in lighting design. He was a true master of modernist design, and his work was characterized by his experimental approach to materials and form.
