About the Item
These neoclassical lyre back sconces are in the Louis XVI style, and feature hand painted porcelain flowers. They are made of enameled bronze with gilt highlights, and are hung with crystal drops. These sconces were purchased from the estate of Drue Heinz and originally hung in "Goodwood", the Sewickley PA estate of H.J. Heinz.

A Magnificent Pair 19th Century French Tole and Porcelain Double light Sconces with Polychrome Porcelain Flowers. This pair of French two-light wall sconces is crafted with tole-mounted porcelain flowers. The sconces feature sculpted metal arms supporting candleholders shaped as stylized flower buds, with faux candle sleeves. The backplates are cast with a ribbon-tied motif, integrating decorative metalwork with hand-painted porcelain elements.
Each sconce has two curved metal arms adorned with clusters of porcelain flowers in shades of blue, yellow, pink, and green. The individually sculpted blossoms are applied to the tole framework, which is painted in deep green tones to resemble foliage. The candle cups are modeled as open petals, glazed in lavender and cream hues.
