Isabelle Faure Signed Illuminated Gold Butterfly Sculpture in Brass and Agate

About the Item

An incredibly rare sculpture by world renowned sculptor Isabelle Faure, in hand worked brass and agate. The enormous butterfly spans over 80cm in diameter and the stunning agate wings are all illuminated from below with four E14 bulbs, each with it's own brass back plate. The works of Isabelle and Richard Faure are, alongside their contemporaries Duval Brasseur and Henri Fernandez, legendary, gifting the world with some of the finest sculpture of the 1970's and 80's. The craftsmanship and marriage between the brass work of the body and the huge agate wings is just breathtaking. This piece is signed by Isabelle Faure and dates to the 1970's, France. The scale and beauty of this piece need to be seen to be believed, absolutely outstanding. Although designed as a wall light, the piece can also be displayed on a horizontal surface standing on it's feet. Measures: Height 64cm x Width 82cm x Depth 24cm Agate Pieces - Large 33cm x 20cm Small 21cm x 18cm. The light is wired, and in full working order, but as with all our lighting we would always suggest it is fitted and tested by a qualified electrician
