French Maison Baguès Set of Three Floral Spray Sconces, Electrified

About the Item

This whimsical design of crystal bouquets set in crystal and bronze urns is representative of the poetry and craftmanship of Maison Baguès. Gilt bronze and cut rock crystal 3-light wall sconces of superb quality, with a central carved rock crystal urn and embellished with crystal flowers, leaves and garlands. A set of 3 exceptional size, 3-light electrified wall sconces. Maison Baguès, founded by Noel Baguès in the 19th century (circa 1860), specialized in bronze pieces. During the 1920s the founder's sons, Victor and Robert Baguès, expanded their father's bronze lighting collection to include models which have today attained an iconic status. Some of the most well-known art directors and decorators of that time appeared in the Baguès order books. Maison Baguès remains a synonym of elegance and a guarantee of excellence. In its workshops, chandeliers, lamps and wall sconces are leaf gilt gold or silver leaf, and the crystals are hand assembled according to traditional techniques. Their pieces have been used to set up lighting in many luxurious homes and establishments, including the Four Seasons Georges V Paris, The Ritz, and The Savoy in London.

By Maison Baguès
Located in Charleston, SC
Pair of French Maison Baguès style three-arm crystal sconces with upper and centered floral medallions, bead work, leaf foliage and crystal cup bobeches. Sconces were originally candle powered and have been electrified, Late 19th Century. Since its establishment in 1860, the Maison Baguès has been an emblem of French sophistication in luxury lighting design. Each piece the firm makes is hand assembled using traditional techniques, in order to emphasize the elegance and excellence of their detailed artisanal work.
