Fine Pair of French 19th Century Gilt-Bronze Figural Wall-Lights with Children

About the Item

A very fine pair of French Belle Époque Louis XV Style 19th/20th century six light gilt-bronze figural wall sconces, each modeled as a ribbon-suspended trumpeting Putto term, issuing six foliate candle-arms, the back-plates stamped 6191. All original mercury gilding and very finely chased ormolu. Circa: Paris, 1900. Measures: Height: 48 inches (122 cm) Width: 28 1/2 inches (72.4 cm) Projection: 10 1/2 inches (26.7 cm).

    Repaired: One candle-arm has been previously professionally restored. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. A truly stunning pair of wall sconces. Overall condition is very good, original mercury gilt with minor age rubbing, finely chased ormolu. One small 1/2 leaf in middle stem, above the Putto, is cut-off and missing. Please view all images.
