Napoleon IIIrd Period Lantern with Stars, France, circa 1870

About the Item

Elegant Napoleon III period lantern in patinated bronze with gold highlights and crystal. The central shaft, in the shape of a globe engraved with stars, is surrounded by three bands decorated with a central pompom, and topped with a leafy crown. The whole is suspended by a ceiling light decorated with acanthus leaves, and ends with a seed.
