Rare Pop Art Daffodil Green & Yellow Painted Metal Floor Lamp By Peter Bliss

About the Item

Very cool Pop Art floor lamp with a mint daffodil flower shade and dito green goose neck. For the collectors and enthousiasts of rare pop art, we are offering this large and wonderfully stylized daffodil design floor lamp. From the same maker we have sold two floor lamps in the past, but those were the tulip design floor lamps. We knew of the existance of the 'narcissus' floor lamp, but we had never before seen one in real life. Therefor too we were thrilled to have been given the opportunity to finally purchase one (and a very good and original too). This rare light is entirely made of painted metal and the colors make it extra vibrant and modern. The goose neck just below the mint flower shade enables you to turn this daffodil lamp shade in every position you wish. And this 'goose neck' still is as strong as the day it was made so that it will stay in any position you like. This truly rare 1980s floor lamp by Bliss radiates a warm and beautiful light and for this floor lamp we used one of those bulbs with stamens-like filaments, because that way it most resembles the way a daffodil looks in real life. Daffodils symbolize rebirth, new beginnings, hope, joy and good luck. And we could not be happier to have found this real gem in this time of year, because much of this symbolism arises from the fact that daffodils emerge each spring to light up barren landscapes with their cheerful yellow, orange, and white. With springtime on our doorsteps, what better way to start the lighter and warmer part of this year with this rare eyecatcher. We have seen that the few Bliss lights that do emerge are going up in value every year and we feel these lights could one day also grace the floors of museums around the world (if they don't already). So both the green goose neck and the entire daffodil flower shade are as good as new, but there are some superficial scratches on the long green leafs and the base. We are showing you the largest superficial scratch in image number 14. By the way, in a normal light situation, these superficial scratches can only be seen from very closeby. Otherwise this work of lighting art is in superb condition and a work of art light fixture like this will never fail to impress. Mind you, the long green leafs that start at the base of the green stem are entirely original and shaped exactly as they were when this rare light was made. We believe this finest specimen even comes with the original and great quality wiring and even the on and off switch looks original, because period-correct. This floor lamp will arrive wired to the highest standard for safe & immediate usage the world over. And when purchased by one of our American clients, it will take a regular American E26 screwthread bulb (LED as well) and we will even attach an American power plug so that it can be used and enjoyed upon arrival. If you like this stylized daffodil floor lamp as much as we do then you will love our price. Especially when taking into account that our fair price includes perfect packing (in a custom made and strengthened box) and also worldwide shipping from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days. Maximum height x width x depth (as in image one): 68.5 x 18.9 x 11.8 inches. Height in the lowest position (with the shade pointing down): 59 inches. Height in the highest position (with the shade pointing straight up): 71.7 inches (equals 6 feet). Diameter of the circular base: 12 inches. Diameter of the daffodil's flower petals: 13.4 inches. Diameter of the trumpet-like front part of the flower shade: 6.8 inches. We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for the best craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again).

Artistic Arts and Crafts Wrought Iron Standard Floor Lamp, signed L. Van Boeckel
By Louis Van Boeckel
Located in Lisse, NL
Rare Louis Van Boeckel wrought iron floor lamp or Oil Lamp. This magnificently handcrafted Art Nouveau lamp was originally made as an oil lamp. At some point in time oil lamps went out of fashion and that is when this oil lamp was transformed into an electrical lamp. On top you can still see the rimb on which the oil reservoir would have rested. Obviously what makes this work of art so beautiful is the design and the incredible details and the natural shape of the leaves, the flowers etc. This is the work of a true artist and you will enjoy it every time you see and use it. Comes with embossed stamp ‘LVANBOECKEL’. Mind you, our fair price even includes perfect packing and also worldwide delivery from our store to your door within 4 days. Height: 66 inches . Louis Van Boeckel (1857-1944) of Lier, Belgium, was one of the most important ornamental blacksmiths of his time. He was an apprentice to the Verwilt factory in Lier, but developed most of his skills as an artisan by himself. His work, including some of his important animal depictions, can be found in the Timmermanns-Opsomer-Haus Museum in Lier. Van Boeckel’s numerous awards included the gold medal at the Exposition du Cercle Rubens (1890), le Prix de l’Art appliqué à la rue, Brussels (1893) and the Grande Médaille d’Or and title of Chevalier de l’ordre Royal du Cambodge at the Exposition Universelle in Paris (1900). He is also responsible for work on the grid of the city hall of Lier after 1890, the grave decorations for Czar Alexander III in St. Petersburg and Queen Marie-Henriette in Laeken, the staircases of honor of the Khedive Palace in Cairo and Benedictine monastery on Mount Olive...
